Roots of Peace nominated for 2 Emmys

We’re thrilled to announce that ROOTS OF PEACE has been nominated for 2 Emmys! Thank you Capital Emmys for this tremendous recognition.

Located steps from the White House in Washington DC, Art Museum of the Americas holds one of the world's leading collections of contemporary art from the Western Hemisphere and is the oldest museum of Latin American and Caribbean art in the United States.

The art serves as a diplomatic tool for promoting “more rights for more people” and to promote cultural exchange. But not all of the work has been on display.

Under the museum is a mural so massive it is longer than the Washington Monument is tall. The mural – ROOTS OF PEACE— was created by renowned painter and sculptor Carlos Páez Vilaró. The work stands as a reminder for tolerance and promotes equal rights and democracy. At 530 feet, it is one of the longest murals in the world. Hidden for years, this documentary makes it available to the public for the first time since it was painted in 1960. ROOTS OF PEACE explores the history of the mural and the values behind the art.
